Shivangi Trivedi: Employee Spotlight

Updated: Jun 3

Today’s Employee Spotlight is on Shivangi Trivedi, one of our talented Medical Writers. Read our Q&A with her below.

Where are you from?

I am from India – namaste! After I completed my schooling in Mumbai (graduating in Pharmacy), I worked in Maharashtra. From 2008 to 2010, I was in the US accompanying my husband, then returned to India to live, work, and have a family in Bangalore. In early 2019, we moved to Cupertino, California.

How long have you worked at Synterex?

7 months.

What is your favorite thing about the company?

The opportunity to work remotely. It’s a big savior, especially with commute times in Silicon Valley.

How did you get into medical writing?

Ever since I graduated, I was inclined towards clinical research. I pursued a postgraduate diploma course in clinical research along with working as an R&D associate. Upon completion, I was pretty much open to explore various roles in the clinical research industry. The first opportunity that came my way was medical writing. I immediately grabbed it, and before I knew it, I was all into it.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

The opportunity to learn and contribute to the health care community.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Seeing a drug that I contributed to being approved in the market feels like an accomplishment in the health care community, though in a teeny tiny way.

On a lighter note, I’m proud that I can feel good at the end of the day having managed work, home, and two children without missing out on their activities. That sounds like an accomplishment to me.

What are some of the hobbies/interests you’re most passionate about?

I am an outdoor person. I enjoy driving and exploring new places. My hobbies include adventurous activities. I have tried snorkeling, scuba diving, parasailing, glider aircraft riding, and indoor sky diving. My wish is to sky dive at Fox Glacier, New Zealand (supposed to be one of the best sky diving places).
